GIRLOFMINE

Girl of Mine is a wonderful, heart wrenching story of two best friends, Troy and Luke. They go through a life-altering experience as kids, which changes them forever. Troy becomes angry with the world and Luke decides to continue to be the best friend he could ever be for Troy.

As Luke is just about to be deployed, he decides to break off his engagement to the girl he loves, for reasons you will discover as you read the book. Regretting his choice, he returns a short while later to find her engaged to Troy. But he is not willing to let her go that easily.

This story is told in sections taking place in the past and present, giving you more insight into the characters as the book progresses. Eventually you get the whole story, and it takes you on all the highs and lows that are so typical for a Taylor Dean Read.

Once again I found myself laughing, hurting, gasping out loud, and even shedding a tear or two. Taylor’s books are soooo good, you find yourself rereading them time and time again!

The book trailer:

A interesting tidbit about GIRL OF MINE:
My dad always worried about the cost of the electricity bill. If he walked past my bedroom and noticed that my light had been left on, he would turn it off and holler,
“That’s okay, Taylor, I got your light.”
It became a bit of a joke in our household. My siblings and I loved to try and catch my dad leaving on a light, just so we could say,
“That’s okay, Dad, I got your light.”
Now that I’m an adult with my own family, the term takes on new meaning.
The message behind it has worked its way into my new novel, Girl of Mine.
My father brought me into this world, he cared for me, and he taught me well. He gave me my “light,” my life.
He nourished my “light” and helped me become the person I am today.
So, Dad, thanks for getting my light.
I’ll always be grateful.
Ive got your light girl of mine taylor dean

This book sounds so interesting. The characters seem real and like you can really relate to them and their situation. At the same time it seems like it would take you on a bit of an emotional rollercoaster, and I love a book that does that.

Readers are divided on this book, some like it and some do not. But I love this story no matter what and I always will!!! I find the subject matter fascinating: loyalty and forgiveness. To this day, my daughter begs me to write a story about Troy and his love life. She found him to be a highly interesting character.
