About one and a half years ago, I wrote a very heartfelt post about books that get us through the deep and ugly in life. You can find the link here. I was moved to do so, after hearing the tragic story of my daughter’s teacher suffering a loss similar to mine. As yesterday marked the ten year mark for me, I felt it was time to write down some of my feelings, and the lessons I have learned in this decade after this life-changing experience. Let...

I read part one in this trilogy a little over a year ago, and I have been eagerly following all updates on this series. When part two dropped into my inbox I freaked, and then the inevitable wait for part three again was excruciating. Finally I can say I read it all, and WOW, what a tale! Book Having escaped the dangers of The Keep, Desiree is determined to free Blake. But when a government-enhanced converter goes rogue, the ensuing battle for power, control, and lives makes Blake’s rescue a secondary mission. As Desiree struggles to overcome past demons and new, stifling expectations, she faces converters more powerful, dangerous, and desperate than ever. To protect those she loves, redeem the convergence, overtake The Keep, and honor the Conclave, Desiree will have to redefine her future. THE CONCLAVE is the intense, action-packed fi...

Book Jax Buried, By my family’s fame. Dying to escape the limelight, And finally, I do. Being raised as a Jayne, I’m under constant scrutiny. The rock band my brothers formed makes it impossible to stay under the radar. Paparazzi, tabloids, rabid fans–you name it and I’ve got it. It all makes me sick. But getting shipped off to crazy Aunt Betty’s house in my senior year of high school isn’t any better. After all, there isn’t a stray kid or pet in the world that my aunt wouldn’t take in. Then I meet her. She’s cautious, suspicious, and not interested in me at all. But that’s fine by me. Sivan Holt may be beautiful and intelligent, but she’s nothing I’m looking for. Sivan Drowning, In my past. Struggling to feel settled. And finally, I do. Growing up in the fo...

Review This book was an emotional read. Bailey has been best of friends with Spencer and Wes for as long as she can remember. And all of that changed one party when she played spin the bottle, and her spin ended up on Spencer. They shared their first kiss, and were inseparable ever since, changing the dynamic of the trio. When Spencer dies, Bailey’s world comes crashing down, and the one person that might be able to help her piece it all together again, is the one person who hates you, and blames you for taking Spencer away. This read takes you on a real journey of reflection. Bailey has a ton of issues she needs to work through, to put her guilt and sadness to rest, and move forward again, and live life again. Wes has been living a real hell, and can’t manage it alone any longer. And then there is Spencer, the Ghost sent back t...

Let me start by saying, I am one of the very lucky, blessed women out there, who have four, beautiful children, that today are living healthy lives, and are doing well in their lives. I understand that although I have known loss, others out there have known even greater loss, and continue to face that loss on a daily basis. My loss has been softened somewhat with my “rainbow baby”. But I am getting a...
